The Look of Your Legacy

This design was inspired by my cousin Roslynn, Ros, Rose🌹
The appliqué was designed by my niece @marleemedeiros

Red represents power and love. The bow symbolizes connection, unity, femininity, strength, and grace — all the beautiful qualities she carried and shared with everyone around her.

Growing up, my biggest outlet was designing and sketching women’s clothing. It gave me a sense of peace, passion, and purpose. Creating my own clothes and expressing myself through design made me feel powerful and confident.

Through every battle, God made sure I stayed the course. His plan was far bigger than anything I could have imagined.

I am deeply grateful for all the people in my life who continue to cheer me on, support me, and believe in the vision.

Today I celebrate new beginnings, shared memories, and the loved ones watching over us and praying for us from above.

March 12 will always hold deep meaning for me.

It was the day ALBA, A Light Beyond Appearance, began its journey. I remember it so clearly. I was scared to send out the press release, yet so excited to step into a new chapter of my life.

My cousin, Roslynn, was the very first person to call and congratulate me. At the time, I didn’t realize it was also her birthday—and the day my PaPa went to be with the Lord.

That call gave me so much clarity, confirmation, and peace. It reminded me that no matter what happens, we have each other, our family, and our legacy.

Making It in America was produced by my cousin, Ros. Through this experience, I had the blessing of sharing our story and discovering pieces of my mom and our family history that I never knew before.

Ros, I’m forever grateful for you. The love and support you poured into my life goes beyond words. I know you’re still cheering us on and watching over us every step of the way.

Happy heavenly birthday, my beautiful cousin. I miss you deeply, but I know you are singing karaoke LOUD and dancing with PaPa and PaPa Romy. I am so proud of you. You truly did God’s work.

The NBWA Empowerment Summit brought together business leaders, corporate partners, NBWA members, current and retired professional athletes, NBA family members, WNBA players, creatives, and dignitaries including LA Mayor Karen Bass @karenbassla , Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens @andreforatlanta and my dear friend Tracey Mourning @honeychildtracy . The energy throughout the event was next level.

Friends like Vivica A. Fox @msvfox and Cuttino Mobley @cuttinoslife have stood by me for years and always show up. That kind of loyalty means everything. I’m honored that so many people made time to support, including loveazja abjcoleman @ciarracarter , @albalegacy - Jhoanna, @jeninehoward @swardally @lisjoseph @deedeerahim @redcarpetmogul, @antoinehtwin , @spencertwin and so many others who came through with love and encouragement.

What a special time for T2. He got to walk in his first fashion show with his dad. My baby was so scared. Thank you, @ALBALegacy, for asking my men to walk in the show.

Fun Fact: I met @nickthepick36 and @tramon_sr in Phoenix when they played for @packers. The team would eat at the steakhouse across the street. I would sit at the bar and network 😉. I casually went up to Tramon & Nick and told them I made clothes for some of their teammates and was hoping they would give me a shot. They did 🙏🏼 and the rest is history.

I appreciate you both for allowing me to design the look of your legacy throughout the years. Forever grateful 🙏🏼
